Day 12 – Ponteivedra to Caldas de Reis

Well this is supposed to be the dry season for this area… So not this year. It lightly rained yesterday on our rest day and today, our walking day, it is pouring rain. Weather reports are calling it a red flag warning for heavy downpours and flooding. Lots of people were heading out and just embracing the worst. So we delayed as long as possible (10am) and also set out. No good news, it poured all day. We finally made it to Caldas de Reis 7 hours later (13.76 miles) soaking wet.

Once we got to the hotel we changed to dry clothes and took all the wet stuff to the laundry dryer. Only thing that could be worse is if it rains tomorrow…. Weather reports for tomorrow show heavy rain all day…damn.

Red flag warning. Normal people stay home.
Umbrella was pretty much useless.
Even the rooster was indoors.
Storm drains were overflowing.
