Day 46 – Portomorin to Palas de Rei

Not much to report as it was just a pleasant day to walk.  We left Portomorin and one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in.  Our day started at 7:30AM and we were one of the first on the Camino. It was foggy and humid but overall the best time to begin a long uphill walk.

We entered Palas de Rei around 2:30 and then looked for a place to eat.  What we can say is this is just a sleeping point and not my much else to the town as we can see. Tomorrow is a short day.

A long way and uphill..

In this area there are times.when the Camino gives a choice to go right or left mostly to show off some attraction or point of interest. We had to do our homework because the alternative path can add considerable distance just to see some so-so thing.

When you come to a fork in the road – take it.

So I mentioned the tour groups that arrive around Sarria – nothing wrong with that! It is kind of amusing though as they get dropped off and they are told to walk to a spot where their lunch is waiting.  There were shuttle vans and taxis going by all day with people. Not sure how that follows the rules.

Tour group lunch spot. We carried oranges and bananas.
The day ended at 77 degrees. Galacia is beautiful.
