Day 12 -13 – Kolačkov – Bubba’s village

Today was a great day. It is Sunday and we just finished Mass at the church Bubba used to attend. Afterwards we went to our long lost cousin’s house, which was Bubba’s house  to have lunch. Some translation was needed but it was a warm and wonderful brunch. Just like bubba – they overfed us!!

Bubba’s house is actually no more. In the spot is the new house, built in 1937, is there now.

800 people and a lot of Zamiska and Relovsky names
Mass was packed – about 140 people. Everyone there instantly knew we were from out of town

Milka’s niece and nephew on bubba’s side. They remember bubba from when she visited in 1966. Bubba was brought into the town back then on the back of a motorcycle!!! Can you imagine?

This is bubba’s house location #46 and where our cousins live. This house is new though as it was built in 1937. The Nazis used the house as a machine gun position against the oncoming Russians
