Janice and I started thinking about walking the Camino de Santiago many years ago. Perhaps the 2010 movie “The Way” inspired us or maybe the stories we heard from others about their Camino put the thought in our minds. I know the evening we were at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress film festival and we watched the short film “Phil’s Camino” about the inspirational story of Phil, we knew for sure, we were walking the Camino someday!
Philosophy
People have been walking the Camino for many, many years (see Father Peter’s article). Each person chooses how they will embark on their pilgrimage/journey, why they choose this endeavor and their own criteria for what they consider fulfillment. Janice and I each have personal reasons why we are walking the Camino and we also have common shared reasons. We make no judgement how others have made this pilgrimage, walk, journey, and/or how they describe their Camino. It is/was their Camino and this is our Camino. ¡Buen Camino!
