Day 42 – O Cebreiro to Triacastela

Remember all that climbing we did yesterday? Well we did some more but then a whole lot of downhill.  We left early so we could capture the sunrise over the cross on the hill. We almost missed it but we made it in time.

Tomorrow we pass Sarria, the minimum starting point and the most popular starting point for the Camino. After Sarria the Camino is supposed to turn into a Disneyland kind of craziness because hoards of people show up to start their Camino there. It is also the place where tour groups really converge to start commercial Camino tours. Even today we saw a bunch of newcomers walking on their first Camino day.

Zoom in was to see the cross on the right.

The views from the top are really great. It was view after view all day.

It’s still early in the morning.
Near the top for this morning’s climb.
Janice is trying to moooove along.
Downhill is actually slower than uphill. Almost 6 hours of walking today.
Not windy today.
