Day 20 – Burgos to Hornillos del Camino

After 3 days of rest we were ready to leave Burgos, a large city, and start our walk to a very small town (population 58). So we got an early start just before sunrise and 30 degrees outside. In an hour we were in Tardajos and had breakfast at the only open small cafe. After we finished eating we got up to leave forgetting to pay but the owner quickly reminded us – how embarrassing!

Burgos ended quickly and we were in farmland.
Waiting for the sun to rise and warm us up.
Only two villages to walk through this morning, Tardajos and this one, Rabe de Las Calzadas.
Small chapel on the edge of Rabe de Las Calzadas.

We are now entering the meseta, the flat land of Spain, and endless wheat fields.

Our walking speed on flat land really rises.
So nice to see our home for tonight – Hornillos del Camino.
Entry into Hornillos del Camino. Now to find our room at La Casa del Abuelo.
