Day 14 – Najare to Santo Domingo De La Calzada (SDDLC)

We studied the weather report for today and it looked sort of ok. Maybe cool and maybe a little rain. When we woke up and saw drizzle we felt like going back to bed but that’s not really an option. We dug out the rain gear and got started. Once on the Camino we felt a lot better.

Raining just hard enough for ponchos.

Our 100% waterproof North face jackets are about 25% waterproof and our REI ponchos are about 50% waterproof. It wasn’t raining that hard so we spent the first two hours figuring out what combination of outwear we wanted because even though it was 55 degrees we were hot.

Like a painting.
We hope Jessica gets the message.

We came upon a golf course pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It was 50 Euros for 18 and we only saw one group out. We both shot 72 of course.

First golf we have ever seen in Europe.

One of the highlights we looked forward to was the Cathedral. It has the chickens in it to remember the hanging of an innocent man (Google it).

The tower is not actually attached to the Cathedral.
Real Chicken.
Zoom in to Jesus on the right and let us know what you think.
Chapel near the Cathedral.
SDDLC is a nice city I wish we would have spent our rest days here.
Empty streets and everything closed at 3:30PM – wait until 8PM and it will be buzzing.
